Pikachu is in action and how!

Just a few days before Pokemon: Detective Pikachu hits the theatres, the entire film has been leaked online and uploaded on YouTube! Don’t believe us? Check out the movie right here!

Ha ha! Tricked you! Well, a YouTube account called ‘Inspector Pikachu’ uploaded a one hour 40 minutes video, titled ‘POKÉMON Detective Pikachu: Full Picture’ on Tuesday night. The supposed leak indeed tricks us into believing it to be the real movie and we are both displeased and amused as we open the video and begin watching only to find our cute little furry Detective Pikachu indulged in a cheerful dance right till the end.

Rumors are rife that someone did this only for entertainment purposes. Okay, we buy that point. It might be a possibility that someone just wanted to have fun and thus published the video. But it could also be a marketing stunt – a fantastic one at that – that’s truly worth watching. We strongly believe that the latter assumption has higher chances to be true since actor Ryan Reynolds, who voices Pikachu in the film, retweeted the post, bringing everyone’s notice to the “leaked” video.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, directed by Rob Letterman, is all set to release in cinema halls this Friday (10 May). It stars Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Pikachu, with Justice Smith playing main character Tim Goodman. Bill Nighy, Ken Watanabe and Kathryn Newton are also in key roles in the film.
