The popular turn-based strategy 4X video game, Civilization 6 has now received the trendy battle royale mode of its own, developer Firaxis Games confirmed in an announcement recently.
Dubbed Red Death, the mode is now available to all Civilization 6 players for free as part of the game’s September 2019 update. The multiplayer mode requires players to outwit others in a chase to beat them all on the dying planet and reach the last space ship.
Red Death supports up to 12 players per match. One can even play a two-player duel, as the mode offers map sizes suitable for smaller groups also. You can also play against AI-controlled opponents.
“The Civilization VI – September 2019 update also includes a new multiplayer mode: Red Death. In this new mode, try to outwit and outmaneuver other players as you all race to board the last space ship off the planet,” mentions the patch notes for the September update on the Civilization website.
Published by 2K Games and distributed by Take-Two Interactive, Civilization 6 is the latest entry in the Civilization series. The title was released on Microsoft Windows and macOS in October 2016, on Linux in February 2017, and on iOS in December 2017. It arrived on Nintendo Switch in November 2018.
