All the three games will be available for purchase as digital downloads on the Switch eShop. The company is yet to confirm whether or not they will be launching a physical version of the game too. The titles will be up with updated graphics and better audio quality along with some other features.
The three games – Dragon Quest (1986), Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line (1987) and Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation (1988) – were originally dubbed Dragon Warrior when they were released.
So far as the prices of the three titles are concerned, they are pretty affordable. Dragon Quest will be sold for $4.99. Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line will come for $6.49. And Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation will be priced at $12.49.
The three games are also known as the Erdrick trilogy. Here’s how Square Enix describes them –
“The iconic Erdrick trilogy begins in the acclaimed Dragon Quest where players begin their voyage as the “Hero,” a descendant of the valiant hero Erdrick in an epic journey through the historic realm of Alefgard. Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line takes place a century later, where the young prince of Midenhall embarks on a journey to find the other two descendants of Erdrick in order to defeat the nefarious Hargon. The third and final title in the Erdrick trilogy, Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, takes players through the land of Aliahan, where a young hero has been charged with an impossible task of slaying Baramos, the master of darkness.”
The forthcoming title Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age was originally released in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4 in July 2017, followed by its worldwide launch for PS4 and PC in September 2018.
