As per a listing on a Mumbai-based video game retailer website MCube Games, the Nintendo Switch Lite – which is currently available for pre-orders from this site as well as various UK and US retailers – is priced at Rs. 24,999 in India. On the other hand, it is retailed for $200 (approx. Rs. 14,400) in the US.
All three standard colors of the Switch Lite – namely yellow, grey and turquoise – are available for pre-orders. In fact, options for the fancy Pokémon edition console are also available in the US.
The smaller, leaner and cheaper version of its existing popular Switch gaming console will reportedly make it to the markets on September 25.
Weighing 0.61 pounds, the Switch Lite will have a 5.5-inch touchscreen that displays at a resolution of 720p (while the Switch has 6.2-inch touchscreen). It will boast of a longer battery life, which can last up to 3-7 hours, of course depending on the game being played on it. Exclusively portable, the forthcoming device won’t be able to connect to the television via USB-C and HDMI, and it will feature built-in controllers (non-detachable).
So far as the games are concerned, nearly all the titles will be able to run on Nintendo Switch Lite, however, the company informs that some titles may face restrictions in terms of the tabletop mode that the Switch Lite won’t support, and you will have to purchase the standard Joy-Cons to play certain games.
