After developer Obsidian Entertainment released a new ‘Come to Halcyon’ trailer for their sci-fi open-world RPG The Outer Worlds earlier this month, some more footage of the role-playing video game, published by Private Division, is out recently.
Thanks to a Taiwanese YouTube channel, nearly 20 minutes of gameplay of the title displayed at Tokyo Games Show 2019 has shown up. It’s running on PS4, and though there’s clearly a great amount of combat in the video, it is a tad annoying that the player keeps skipping the dialogue. He seems to be paying no heed to the narrative that is quite off-putting.
Here’s an understanding of The Outer Worlds for the uninitiated –
“Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.”
The Outer Worlds is all set to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on October 25 this year, while its Nintendo Switch version has been planned for a later release.
